Industry Veteran Clay Cornett to Lead ALAW Sales Efforts ALAW
ALAW, the premier provider of legal services for the mortgage banking industry, today named industry veteran Clay A. Cornett to lead the Firm’s sales and business development efforts in as executive vice president of sales for ALAW and its related technology entities. He also joins the ranks of Partner with the Firm.
Cornett, who most recently served as executive vice president of sales for ServiceLink, a Fidelity National Financial (FNF) Company, has more than 30 years of experience and service representing banks and mortgage operations. From 2000 to 2011, he served as President of FNF, FNIS and LPS Default Solutions’ group of companies where he was instrumental in architecting one of the premier default service providers in the industry.
Cornett joins new Partners Christina Liepold and Michael Barron on the heels of ALAW’s national expansion efforts and the acquisition of ongoing operations and assets of JPMorgan Chase’s California Reconveyance Company (CRC). ALAW’s national footprint has now grown to include Florida, Georgia, California, Arizona and Texas. Liepold and Barron join ALAW with 20 plus years combined experience in the mortgage servicing industry.
Christina Liepold was most recently Partner with California lender services firm, Aronowitz, Mecklenburg, Spitalnick & Liepold. She also brings a wealth of mortgage banking industry experience having served as a Vice President with Goldman Sachs and then as a Director for Avelo Mortgage. She is an expert in legal services, related to the residential mortgage loan secondary market. Liepold graduated from Ohio University with a BBA in Business and earned her Doctor of Law from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
Michael Barron is responsible for ALAW’s west coast legal operations and brings a wealth of operational experience in the oversight of both regional and national foreclosure and trustee companies. Barron has long been at the forefront of technological innovation in the mortgage banking industry. During his tenure as General Counsel for the United Companies Financial Corporation, he was responsible for the creation and implementation of the LAWPlus technology and consulting practice. The LAWPlus technology enabled the electronic filing of documents by the California Bar. Barron went on to serve as General Counsel for LOGS Financial Services, where he helped to guide the company’s acquisition by First American Title Insurance Company. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law School.
